Compass is a technology-driven real estate platform with offices throughout the United States. In 2014, they sought out to transfer their corporate Headquarters to one central location in New York City: 90 5th Avenue. Built in 1903 and recently renovated to provide “Class A” infrastructure to prospective tenants, the building proved to be an almost perfect location to facilitate the growth of the firm.
PowerCon performed complete Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Fire Alarm design services for the buildout of Compass' new Headquarters location in a midtown high rise building. The buildout included eight full floors of offices, open area workations, pantries, as well as additional support spaces, for a total of 112,500 square feet.
The workstation areas were designed with an open ceiling plan. The exposed ductwork added to the industrial feel of the 100+ year old building. The floors were designed, constructed, and occupied in three phases and over the course of two years.
